It has been beautiful weather and I’ve see lots of families out walking and biking while maintaining social distancing.
Physical activity is a terrific idea to do during this stressful time. Not only is it great for your muscles and heart, it releases stress and improves mood.
If you and your family are going to be out and about on bicycles (skateboards, inline skates, etc.) remember to wear a helmet and follow these other safety rules.
Did you know your bicycle is like a vehicle? It is! And it needs to be treated as such.
When riding your bicycle, please remember to use hand signals to alert drivers as to your intentions. Below is a coloring sheet with three simple hand signals.
- NOTE: In the above information, the kid in the yellow shirt is signaling with the WRONG arm. Always use the left arm to signal traffic as it is closer to the vehicles and easier for drivers to see.
Enjoy your Friday! I hope that your day is filled with love, laughter, and a bit of time enjoying the beautiful, spring sunshine!
Going to be on your bike (or other wheels) today? If so, feel free to send me a photo of your family being safe on wheels and I’ll be glad to share it on social media.
Remember to wipe down surfaces like door knobs, counters, steering wheels, and wash-wash-wash your hands!
