Yay! Today is here. It’s World Read Aloud Day!
And just what are you doing to celebrate? If you don’t know, this site gives you a few ideas.
Here are a few of mine:
Drop by the library and pick up a book (any children’s book) and just remember what it was like to be a child; full of wonder and excitement!
Visit your local bookstore and see if you can read to any kids gathered there.
Pick a children’s book you love (of course, I’d love it if you picked one of mine!) and write a favorable Amazon review for the author. (You can’t imagine how important reviews are for writers!!)
Buy several picture books to donate to a literacy group, school, preschool, etc. If you are from the Concord, NC-area perhaps you could donate them to the *Greater Cabarrus Reading Association. (*GCRA hosts an annual literacy event at the Carolina Mall to celebrate the wonderful world of Dr. Seuss. They also give books away to children in attendance. This year the Seuss at the Mall event on Feb. 24th.)
And… when you are done with all of that, take time to enjoy a story being read aloud to you!
Firefighters’ Busy Day is now on YouTube!
