Easter Egg Musical Instruments

All those plastic Easter eggs scattered about the house… what are you going to do with them?

Why not turn them into musical instruments with a few simple household items?

#1 – Easter Egg Shakers

  • Open eggs and fill 1/2 way with sand, uncooked rice, small pebbles, dried beans, etc., or any combination of the above mentioned
  • Close/snap back together
  • Go around the crack with masking tape, decorative tap, ribbon, etc.

#2 – Easter Egg Maracas 

  • Open eggs and fill 1/2 way with sand, uncooked rice, small pebbles, dried beans, etc., or any combination of the above mentioned
  • Close/snap back together
  • Place a plastic spoon on each side of the egg
  • Tape plastic spoons around the middle of the eggs with masking tape, decorative tape, ribbon etc. (picture below does not accurately show this)
    • To further hold together, tape spoons directly under the eggs
